A compact disc that is optical identic to audio CDs. Like Audio-CDs, CD-ROMs contain information that can be read by a computer or a videogaming console. CD-ROMs can hold about 650 MB, allowing them to store mass-data, like video and sound. The disadvantage of CD-ROMs is that reading is far slower than reading from other storage-devices (e.g. cartridges, hard drives).
