Started by R.J. Mical and David Needle, this company made add-ons for the Atari 2600 before creating a true multitasking computer, the Amiga, which was released by Commodore. The company was acquired by Commodore and the name can also generally refer to the computer, which was not successful in the US except in vertical markets for video processing and editing. The Amiga is attempting to make a comeback in 1997 with PowerPC based systems, and a major television manufacturer shipping televisions with Amiga hardware built in.
