A method of computer simulation that allows scientists to assess probable outcomes of experiments or events. The method employs repeated simulations of an event using actual data, where known, and providing probable values of unknown data. Probable values of unknown data are selected anew for each simulation by a random number generator. Based on the Metropolis Algorithm (1946).
