Saturn is the sixth planet from Sun:Distance from sun (million km): 1.432 Revolution: 23,63 years Diameter (equator): 120.870 km Period of rotation: 10 h, 39 min Saturn is a large gas planet with an atmosphere composed of hydrogen and helium. The winds on Saturn reach speeds up to 1.800 kilometers/hour. Saturn has an extensive ring system which is formed by thousands of individual rings. The rings appear to contain water ice and dust. The thickness of the rings ranges from 10 to 100 meters. Astronomers believe the rings developed from particles that resulted from the break-up of naturally occurring satellites. Saturn has at least eighteen naturally occurring moons/satellites.
